what do u mean by the money part
Discus are expencive to buy, and labor intensive to keep alive. They require very stable, to notch water quality, and reqular water changes, as they will not tolerate disolved organic solids, high nitrates or high total disolved solids. Therefore, they require a tank that is 4X2X2 foot minimum idaly, with two exturna canisters turning over the tank at 5X the hour. However, they do not like current, therefore, you must spread the flow in such a way asto not produce strong current.
They require either 10% dayly waterchange, or twice weekly 25% changes as a minimum, and either way thats a lot of water. Also, the temps, GH, KH pH and TDS of the replacement water should not be too far off the values of those in the tank, of the swings in these levels can stress the discus to a point where their immune systems are compromised.
A good alternative may be angelfish. The above is just a short summary of discus requirements, and I would advise further research into discus - specific requirements, if you are still interested in keeping discus.
