Are these easy to keep? How big do they get? Are they friendly or aggressive fish? Can I put them with oscar fish? How much do they usually costs, under 10 bucks?

These grow quite a bit bigger than the oscar- sizes of 30 inches and above are mentioned by most authorities, and I have seen some massive ones in public aquaria. You would be looking at a tank of several hundred gallons. They are mainly herbivores but will eat smaller fish and have been known to take people's fingers off. Apparently absolutely hopeless to get rid of once they have started growing big, as public aquaria are already up to their necks in them.

If you still have a 10 gallon tank, with maybe a possiblity of a 55 gallon down the line, I can't help feeling that you are looking at the wrong end of the spectrum- you should be investigating tetras and small rasboras instead. Though not as tankmates to the oscar, evidently....

Best way to get someone to NOT buy a Pacu. Show them what they become in VERY little time...

I can't believe they sell these in Wal Mart. It should only be a specialist fish, that's for sure.

I second the silver dollar. MUCH better aquarium fish, unless you have a 300 gallon tank lying around...

minimum 45-55 US gallon tank i'd say for silver dollars, they like to be in groups don't they? 8" long they get. talking like yoda i am.

thats a small one sorry to say. The national aquarium in baltimore has one that is about 6" thick and about 1 and a half times the size of a bumper pool table.
