I HAVE FRY!!!

I came home today and checked on my pregnant girls to find that one was thin!!! Which meant FRY!!! Well, kinda. I only found one. One little baby swordy hiding all the way at the top of the tank. She is very thin now so I am assuming there are no more to come.

The little baby is SOOO cute and is now in a breeding trap with 3 2-week old mystery fry....it is almost translucent....I am in love I have wanted swordy fry for so long. I haven't managed to see any others though I am still to look in the filter. I can't check the adults stomachs though

My other girl is still heavily pregnant.....I am about to remove the new mum into the 10gal and leave the pregnant girl to give birth in peace (which should be soon dammit).....she is SOOOO active for a heavily pregnant fish.

Yipee! You've finally got babies!!! They are real good at hiding in gravel, they will duck down and bury themselves if they sense any danger. Do you have any substrate in the tank? You might consider putting some marbles in there for any fry that you may have missed. With neons they are so darn hard to see at birth that you may have several more in there. They also like to hide behind heaters and filter tubes. Look in your corners real carefully too - they'll hold real still and blend into the scenerary.

I'm gonna go tell my swordies now and they'll have a celebration party for you!

Thanks peeps. The two I did manage to catch were hiding in the top corner of the tank. I do have gravel in there so will give that a good going over this afternoon. I will also check the filter and associated hiding spots.
