I have a mature 90G tank that did have some SA cichlids in it but they got to big. So now it's fishless and I wish to start up a community tank. The question is how many tetras can I have? This is my idea;

-2 or 3 rams, not sure what kind yet

2 keyholes, or maybe some flag cichlids

12 corys, not sure what kind yet

and maybe like 25 to 30 tetras, like cardinals, black phontoms, neons, zebra danios

4 or 5 ottos for aglea

This tank will have 3 large pieces of driftwood in it as well as it being very well planted with live plants. So what do you think? Any suggestion on what I should do would be very helpful because I really what some feedback on this. Like of there's something that you recomand or something I should do different in this stocking? Thank you

I think your selection of fish is well thought out... 25 - 30 tetras would be absolutely fine... ( I personally like black phantoms ), I would suggest corydoras Sterbai or C. trilineatus, there are many similar and brilliant Corydoras species to choose from... 4 - 8 Otto's would also be fine ( if there is enough algae ), The Keyhole and Ram Cichlids would get along well with the other fish, but if they breed, there will be some aggression ( you have to supply ample territories for the Cichlid pairs )... Overall, it sounds great! :thumbs:

What about taking it down a bit and instead of a 90G a 55G? Like 15 tetras, 8 corys, 4 ottos, 2 rams, and a keyhole male? Would that work in a 55G?

Make sure they are larger tetras because REMEMBER rams are still cichlids and will eat neons.
