my water is pretty hard (i think). it's at the pH level of 8(ish) and i was wondering if there was anyway i could lower it (?)
on my pH test leaflet, it says adding peat to my filter but... how?
i was thinking if i picked up some sort of small bag, the kinda thing people put in there washers, it would work.
my filter has 2 sponges at the moment though. from the bottom it goes;
compartment 1 - sponge
compartment 2 - sponge
and then the outlet n stuff.
do i change it to sponge, peat or peat then sponge (based from the bottom)?
also, how much peat am i going to have to use? would it fill the entire compartment? i have an AquaFlo 3 internal filter.
and if it doesn't fill the entire compartment, would it be safe to put abit of activated carbon on a bag with it?
thanks
