My betta has always built bubblenests when he was in a divided tank with his girlfriend, but I moved him to the spawning tank a few days ago and he hasn't. He can see the female, so I dunno. Should I move him back to the divided tank? Should I let the girl out in the tank for a little while, to encourage him? Should I get a chimney to put her in? (she floats in a cup about 1 - 3 hours a day, monitered to make sure she isn't stressed) It's filtered with a filter on trickle setting (less current) and heated and has IAL.

Is there anything I should try to help him out, or is he just settling? He built huge ones only days after getting in the other tank, so I dunno.

He may just need to readjust to new settings again. I wouldn't worry yet.

I think he's just settling in. When I spawned my bettas, I had a piece of plexiglass to corner my female so my boy could see her all the time. She was stressed at first, but she soon realized that he couldn't harm her. Good luck!

I don't know if this has anything to do with it but right before it rains I have bubble nests all over. A couple will really build some nice ones if I lower the water and wait awhile then fill it back up. Just a couple of things I have seen that effected the boys.

you should try letting her out with the male for 10-15 mins but if he starts to nip her take her out you would have to watch very closely for how ever long she is in there with him but no more than 15 mins. would love to see some pics of parents to :good: :good: :good:
Good Luck :good:

There are pictures of the parents on the "what do you think" thread by me, even though I'm having difficulty even seeing if the female is female. Just to be sure, could I get a second opinion on that? Do you all think letting the female out for a little while is safe? I've never done that so I'm not sure.
