After all the reading I have done about plants andplanted tanks I have noticed that you should have C02 in your tank to look after the plants, amongst other things.

But how do these plants survive in the wild, where does the C02 come from there?

I dont do anything to my plants, I plant them and thats it, they all seem to grow fine.

So what I am wondering is why do you need all this stuff to take care of them?

Simple. You dont.

Many aquariasts grow plants fine withought CO2 or any other fancy contraption.

Its just in some cases its more beneficial for plants, and the grow with even more vigour and grow faster. Not having co2 or high p[owered lighting should not stop you from growing a great planted tank if you put in some effort and knowledge! :D

Cheers Miagi, I was curious and I suddenly started thinking about it.
