I Have A Pair Of Keyholes

Bought at roughly the same size, from different sources so that if they breed there is reduced chance of inbreeding.

One is larger, and has longer dorsal and pectorial fins. The other is slightly dumpier, and has shorter fins, but the fins are roughly the shame shape.

Been advised how to sex them by fin shape i.e. males fins more pointed - but they look quite similar to me now (although they did look different when purchased!)

Any clues how to sex these monkeys without looking at fin shape and length?

Hiya. It seems to me that you might have a pair. The male usually has longer pointier dorsal and pectoral fins. The female has shorter fins which curl round towards the tail. I have a breeding pair with these characteristics. I have roughly 20 in my 5ft tank, all various sizes. Hope this helps in some way.

generally speaking the males will have longer flowing fins and will be more bulky wheras females are smaller a stumpier with less flowing fins well thats how i sexed muy male

Of course Saz. Not a problem. I posted some ages ago, will try find where they are and let you know. Ive got a pair that look like they are going to hopefully breed soon. Doing the shimmying and flaring their gills at each other.
