With one of my angels. Both of his eyes are white. And one of my little tetras is dead. I checked the water and the ammonia was normal but to my surprize the nitrte is high 2 why did this happen. I was wondering I always use melafix on my fish when they are ill because it is natural and the safest way. I dont like using anything I always keep my tanks real clean and I ususally dont have any problems at all. I just cant figure out what caused my nitrite to rise and my fish to get white eyes...SOme one try to help me figure out what went wrong..

I would do a few large water changes over the next few days to see if that helps. Usually if you see a film over the entire eye then its caused by a bacteria. I dont think melafix will help for this. If it hasnt cleared in a couple of days then get a bacterial med.

I had to remove my kuili loaches just a few minutes ago. This tank is going crazy something has messed with my cycle The ammonia is up now. When I changed the water this morning the tank went birzirk. I am not worth a dime at spelling..

Cloudy eye is a symtom of a desease not a desease in it's self, do a water change, can you post test so we can take a look.

not the writer of this information below.

Cloudy Eye- Cloudy eye can have many causes. Look for signs of Velvet Disease, Ick, and Fish tuberculosis. However, sometimes this is caused due to bacterial infections. Symptoms: One or both eyes become cloudy, and take a whitish appearance. Fish may show signs of distress, and be off-color and behave abnormally. Treatment: Establishing the likely cause of the problem and treating it as soon as possible is the best way to prevent damage to your fish's nervous system. The incidences of cloudy eye can be maintained by keeping the water quality in a good condition, and adding a small amount of aquarium salt to the water at water changes. There are many good medications available at your local pet stores that deal with this problem. Follow the recommended accordingly.

I just done a big water change again. I know I shouldnt change the water twice in one day but I had no other choice. I removed the fish out of the tank and put them in the hospital tank. The eyes are still the same but the fish is acting better. I lost one of my loaches. I cant figure out what went wrong with my cycle. I have had any loses that would cause this nor have I done anything different. But the water readings are normal again. I will have to do another fishless cycle on the tank will the other fish are getting well.. Thanks for the help all. I still cant figure out what went wrong. Any ideals

:D I'm all for Keeping from using Chems and Meds if you can...
I applaud You at That... But Sometimes they are a necessary Evil "So to Speak"...
I agree at using Salt as it is good at helping to Kill off anytype of Infections that maybe going on here. It also helps to Heal the Fish Wounds if any, and helps to retain the Fish Electrolytes at a healthy level...
As for your Antibiotic Consider Tetracycoline as it is Broad Based, and treats a number of different types of infections this Maybe Your best Choice since we really don't know what type of infection it is..

And as for your What May have messed up your Cycle.
It's Hard To Say.
Has your water Company changed any use of chems in your Water Supply that they didn't tell you about?
Could you have possiably introduced anything into your Tank without Knowing it, Chems on your hands from Work, Cleaning Solutions and the like.
It's possiable, No Matter how careful You maybe... IT CAN HAPPEN...
It Happens to the Best of Us, Sometimes we just Mess Up without thinking because of Our Everyday Lives get our minds OFF TRACK...

Anyways Keep Us Posted... {AND GOOD LUCK} :S
