Finally, after months of looking I found the Bumblebee Gobies...........

Just had to share that with you folks.

I've only had these fish a few hours, but already I'm surprised. These little guys just ZING around the tank! I think I was expecting something more sedate........ like the way my Cardinal Tetras just sort of cruise slowly around the tank.

I have 13 of them in a 26 gallon tank. They live with 3 Nerite Snails, a few MTS, and (temporarily) 2 large Marisa snails. The big snails will be moved next week, when I up the salinity a little bit. The store had them in fresh water.

My Oscar, in the tank next door, seems VERY interested in them........ probably thinking "now why did you put those tasty-looking things over there......... where I can't get 'em!)

Congratulations on your new Bees, i would like some but my other fish would think they were lunch, oh well maybe in the future :)

Seems like quite a few for the size BUT, im no expert so cool :good: they certainly look cool in my lfs, wish they were compatable for my set up!

If you want to have the BBG's in bracksih just do your usual water changes but rather than using freshwater do 15% each week with water at 1.005 or such, within a month or so itll be brackish.

Ps

You know it needs to be marine salt to make a Brackish environment etc.

They are in brackish water, I actually had to decrease the salinity in my tank after I got them. My salinity was only 1.002, so I knocked it down to 1.001, because the store kept them in fresh water. I plan on increasing the salinity by a point at each water change, up to about 1.005 or so. All the permanent snail inhabitants of that tank can easily live in that, and the big Marisas are coming out next week.

They do move around quite a bit, especially if you have lots of decorations for them to sit on. I have plenty of rocks and plants in my tank and they will just zip from one perch to another, all day long... so cute!

Mine are very very brass necked, they will happily chase the Puffers to get to a piece of meat lol

They are so cute, if i could fine more id get another few....Sexing is a pain though, im not sure if ive got males/females or both lol

Aren't the males more orange, and slimmer? I seem to remember reading that in Neale's book....

They are definitely very cute!
