I Got Some Scissor Tails & They Are Doing The Meting Thing

i got some scissor tails & they are doing the meting thing & i would like to get some babies or eggs from them
i will be moving the common plec in about 2 days to my other tank ( i know he would eat the eggs )
so how should my tank be laided out
should i get some live plants in there
should i put the scissors in a breeding net thing
or what else to make them laid the eggs
