I Feel Sick

For a couple of weeks I've had flashing, flicking fish. Treated with sterazin which improved things but about a week later I noticed a couple of them starting to flick and twitch again. So I got some meth blue. Treated the tank tonight. Now I've read you shouldn't treat the whole tank, but bathe the fish instead. So my plants are likely to die, I can handle that, what I can't handle is the thought of my filter bacteria dying cos I know that will affect the fish.

What can I expect and what should I do? I have carbon pads somewhere, should I just stick one in and remove it? Or leave it for a couple of days and hope the meth blue does it job and gets rid of the parasites?

I hate that stuff! Dyed everything! Still getting rid of it. Anyway, have you tested for ammonia and nitrite?

Any slime build up on there body.
Check the gills to see if there pale with excess mucas on them, or red and inflamed.
