I don't know what it is

I just started work as a receptionist, and the office has a large silver fish that I think may be a cichlid. Other employees said she has laid eggs before, so she is female. The building owner left her there when he moved out. She has a large red patch on her "throat" area, and probably would weigh 1.5 pounds out of water. The tank is disgustingly filthy, and I am doing my best to clean it with the limited equipment and time I have available. I feel a strong need to find out what she is, so I can make sure she gets the proper food. The tank is about 35 gal. as far as I can guess, and in an elongated hexagon shape. Thanx, Patwin

can you post a pic of it? could possibly be a firemouth, which is a new world cichlid.
