hello folks. bought this little guy from one of the fish stores in my area today after the guy told me it would most certainly not grow bigger than 3". but after calling in to another later in the day the guy in there informed me by my description that I had bought a bn plec and that it would grow up to 15cm. my tank is only 33gallons and stocked with community fish. I although I do have room for fish not sure if this pleco once fully grown would be suitable for my tank. at the moment he is only an inch long so therse no imeadiate issue. not the greatest pic but hes so small and a bit shy at present.

It does look like a BN, but I couldn't be 100% sure from that pic (I know fish, and especially plecs, are very hard to get decent pics of!).

Most BNs don't get as big as 15 cms; none of mine have ever got to more than about 10cms. He should be fine in your tank, although you will have to keep on top of your maintenance; all plecs are pretty messy fish

I'm confident that's a bn plec. It will do just fine in a tank your size :)
