hi I have this plant in my garden
hydrocotyle_vulgaris.jpg

and I saw in here lljdma06 tankand I was wondering if I can put some in my tank or are they a special variety? they look the same to me

any advise

thank you very much

I doubt it is the same plant, try googling, Hydrocotyle emersed, and see what comes up.

Where are you located? It is a native plant from North and South America. Hydrocotyle verticillata. Mine grows taller submerged, but definitely has the "toadstool" shape rather than the split that Hydrocotyle leucocephala has. I bet it would grow shorter with more light.

It grows quite well. I plucked it right from my garden and it looked just like that. Be careful if your lawn is treated. Mine is not, so I felt alright removing and using the plant.

Then it is most likely Hydrocotyle verticillata.

Thank you. It has seen better days, but it is alright.
