Does this really work? I like the idea, as I am currently struggling with my plants,,,

yep it works, exactly the same principle as the nutrafin CO" kit (see the pinned thread on these for info)
its basically yeast, sugar and water, which ferment to make CO2. the CO2 levels can be a leittle more unstable than with pressurised CO2, but is a good system for a small tank

Excellent, is the diffusor pump neccesary? does it really help in mixing CO2/water at a more desirable range?
