Hey, i noticed today that the stomach of one of my clown plecs is ecxtremely large. Like 2cm deep and 3cm wide. The fish looks like its swollowed a ping pong ball. They are not overfed and get a varide diet. The other clown plec is fine and looks normal and healthy. What could it be?

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Are scales sticking out.
Check the anus of the fish to see its enlarged or red and inflamed.
What does it look like when the plec goes to the toilet.

Epson salt baths to draw the fluids out.
If you can issolate a bacterial med.

100 Liters, 2 german blue rams, 10 cardinal tetras, 2 clown plecs, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate is 15
No scales are sticking out, everything looks normal and its the same dark brown as normal. Tank has been running near 5 years with orignal batch of cardinals, the rams are about 2 as are the plecs

I wouldn't feed him for a few days.
All you can do is epson salt baths and try a bacterial med in issolation.
Do you feed bloodworms and have you overfed them.

I do feed blood worm and no i dont think so i usually add one small cube into a jug of tank water let it melt down and the pour the jug evenly across the tank to distribute the bloodworm evenly. I have tried a different brand of algae wafer that they seem to like alot actually but only add one every 2 days as with the blood worm.

Ok as feeding to many bloodworms can make them bloat up.

Hmm maybe thats it i will leave the bloodwom for a few days and see if he de-bloats thanks for yor help
