Saw this in FHM mag, googled it and got this site, if you go to the radisson site, it shows the rooms, and you can see the tank from your window!, AND it has a glass lift going through the middle of it! how cool is that!

nice tank

I saw this in the planning stages a while back. here's the dimentions

It was alo in coral mag not so long ago. Stuning tank, would love to go and see it.

ste :)

Stunning tank! the halides on that might kick out enormous heat! i cant imagine what the evaporation will be

There is larger though.. Its not a full reef tank but its a tropical marine tank, Its so huge they cannot get lights powerful enough to penetrate deep enough. So corals are false but the entire tank is designed to look like a fully functioning reef.
This tank is 2,500,000 lrs (555,000 UK gallons)
I have seen that tank in person and its simply awe enspiring.
My sump!

Navarre, stop putting up pictures of my LFS :D

Seriously though, the Plymouth Aquariums reef is huge! Might go back soon and get some nice pictures.

*yawn* I laugh at your tiny aquariums. That may as well be a nano, compared to this:

Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, the worlds largest marine habitat (34 acres!!!). That pic is just of the Great Hall of Waters, a restaurant in the middle of the main tank. If you ever have the chance to go there, do it!

Here's a 10 foot manta ray they keep in it, along with other sharks, rays and fish... Let me know if you want to see more pics and I'll post them in a separate thread.

There's a very cool water-slide thing there that's basically a reverse tank. The slide is an acrylic glass tunnel that goes through a shark tank. You don't walk through it, you float through on a rubber ring. Really bad picture (not mine), but you might get the idea:

sod that that looks scary floating through a tube with sharks on the other side

a 34 acres tank?

what do they use to feed that? they just drop in a ton of meat every week?
