Hows this for a scare...

My platys had some frys a few weeks before I planned on buying my Black Ghost Knife fish. After two weeks I started giving away the frys to anyone who wanted them rather than have them become food to the BGK. I had 6 frys left when I bought the BGK and figured I'd let nature decide. One girl who said she wanted 1 or 2 decided that, although she waited over a week when I told her she needed to get them in the next couple of days, my promise still stood. There was 1 fry left today so I told her fine. By that night when she came over to get it the BGK had eaten it. I felt bad, she didn't say it but felt cheated.
They left and I followed them out to go run errands. When I couldn't find my BGK in the tank. I was looking all over, and my tank isn't that big. Thoughts of a pissed girl fishnapping were running through my head.

I try moving the plants, no BGK. I move his home made ghost cave, no BGK. I'm freaking out at this point. I finally lift up this incan temple replica (basically a hollow plastic pyramid) that my roommate insists is really cool.

In my search for the last fry we had moved it enough to make an opening and the BGK had decided that was a better home than his cave. Way less light got in there, but I doubt he could have gotten out. I wonder how it could have taken me to find the fish, especially if I started accusing that girl. Also how big of an idiot I would have felt if I would have to explain that I lost a fish that can't leave the few sqaure feet he is given.

Don't worry, paranoia affects the best of us.

Now you know that the knife prefers lower lights, so you could also adjust the lights to its preference, since it is the centerpiece.

I'm guessing you had no luck finding that fry.

Can you imagine going through the lengths of stealing that fish over something as small as one fry? I would have probably made an ass out of myself and said somethign to them, but that's cause I am paranoid all the time lol. No, really, I've just seen too many people do really insane stuff to ever really trust them not to do something...

I wouldn't laugh about not being able to find a fish "that can't leave the few sqaure feet he is given. "

I lost a baby bristlenose last night from my 60 litre fry tank. There are a few platie and molly fry in there and two B.N. fry thats all. Found him on the counter dried up

He both got out and I couldn't find him.

I'm guessing the fish turned up?
