Hows My Cycling Going?

Hey everyone i've been doing my tank cycling for over a week now and i was wondering if this looks about right? (btw i put in .5 because my readings were sometimes inbetween the colours)

Ammonia readings
day1 6ppm
day2 5ppm
day3 4ppm
day4 4ppm
day5 4ppm
day6 3.5ppm
day7 3ppm
day8 2ppm
day9 2ppm
day10 2ppm
day11 2ppm


although i've been testing for nitrites they alway show up 0 except on day 4 i got 0.25 lol

Have a question too...I have about an inch of evaporated water in my tank. will this effect readings? I may put some water in it to fill it up but i don't want to dilute the ammonia in my tank. can't wait till i can put fish in it damn it!

Ammonia looks to be dropping a little slowly, especially since it has been stalled at 2 ppm of 4 days. Topping the tank off won't hurt anything as long as you dechlorinate the water.

You should definitely have a nitrite reading though unless it is somehow being processed too. Have you checked the nitrates to see what they are (do you have any nitrates in your tap water)? What is your tank pH and temperature?

Just did a current reading of both my tap and tank

Tap water ph 7.1
Tap water nitrate <<<<<<<<<<<<i can't find my nitrate colour chart aaaaarrr it's a kind of goldy yellow colour could someone post a pic of the chart?
Temperature: 26C

tank nitrate : it's the same as the tap
ammonia: 2ppm
tank ph: 7.1
tank nitrite: still 0ppm aaaaa!


this cycling is very annoying
