First up, let me just say I love the emoticons!
Ok, now that's out of the way, I'm just posting a note to introduce myself and say hi. I'm a major tetra fan, I first saw them in our childhood dentist's office and was transfixed.
I'm currently in the process of starting a brand new (50l) tank after moving continent, and have had a fishtank for over 10 years now. My first one was a 9l 6-sided tank which was tiny and a dreadful disaster at first. I won't go into details but due to being an absolute novice and not having the internet, I pretty much cooked my brand new fish at 30C. I learnt the hard way and managed to get the thing working fine eventually
After that, I got a hand-me-down tank of approximately 25l. It was my first *proper* tank (with natural colour gravel, driftwood and plants), but this one also gave me a hassle because it sprung a slow leak. Managed to evacuate and seal it up with no casualties and enjoyed the tank until I got...
The big one! A 100l tank, which I stocked with various tetras, a few kuhli loaches and, because they were so stunning, Congo tetras. That tank is still going strong (the fish in it are over 5 years old) and I remotely-assist my sister (who has 'adopted' the tank and is looking after it for me) by Skyping during waterchanges. I miss my beautiful fish, hence the new tank.
Ok that's a majorly long rambly introduction, but I just had to join because the threads about fishless cycling etc are JUST what I'm needing now as I start my new tank going
Cheers for now
Kit
