I posted a  topic to help me with the stocking of my 20 gallon long tank.but it did not produce the results i wanted. so i thought i would approached it another way, so i am asking how would you stock a 20 gallon tank? from the answers i will choose the stocking i like best.  And that fits the water parameters. I know that the ph is 6.5-7 and i have the tank with 8 anubias plants and java moss and fern.

So how would you stock a 20 gallon if you had to?

I'll just put down what my 20 gallons are, as I quite like them.

20g Long
1x Betta
~12x Habrosus Corydoras

20g Flatback Hex
9 Spotted Blue-Eyes
9 Neon Tetras
2 Peacock Gudgeons

I hope you're able to figure out something you enjoy :)

I like the second stocking but i can only find neon tetras

Here is my build!

Lots of anubias, lots of greens, lots of plants!
A few driftwood, etc,
I have: one bamboo shrimp, 3 nerite snails, 6 Neon Tetras, and a Betta. Will be getting cherry red shrimp in the future.

Well that stinks! The neon tetras are really enjoyable though.
Are you sure you can't find those? Have you asked your LFS, or are there any LFS that you havn't tried visiting yet?

I'm not trying to get you to do my stocking, but I am concerned about you not having access to some fish that you may like.

I was really bummed when I first heard about the spotted blue-eyes as I thought I'd never be able to get them.
Few weeks later, looking at my LFS newsletter..there they are, and on sale! :p

I'd love to get a bamboo shrimp one day. How's it interact with your betta l_l_l?

My bamboo shrimp makes me laugh because it looks really chill with everything in my tank!
At some point in the day yesterday, I found my Betta taking a siesta beside the shrimp, and the shrimp was just minding it's own business. They're cute!

I tried a month or two back to tried to get the fish for this tank  but there was no luck, same with the peacock gudgeon. Its as the fish were destined for my tank. i will try again this weekend and if there is no luck i was thinking would threadfin and celebes rainbows be a good alternative.

I don't know about those two, you must make sure they live in the same conditions, do you have a heater? If so, at what temp is it set?

Yes i do have a heater the tank currently has a few cardinal that are there just to keep something in a tank while i decide. i friend will later take the cardinals. the temperature is 26 degrees Celsius
