Exactly that! I have only had 1 batch of eggs sinc I acquired my harem of cacatuoides a few months back. That particular female hasn't turned yellow since, however another female has many times (with no luck of her EVER guarding a cave). I have a third female who has never turned yellow (at this point, she's so gorgeous, I think she's having an identity crisis!). Any suggestions?

I wish I had an answer for you . If you had another tank , maybe you could try taking either the male or the females out for a while. You could try a little rearranging of hiding places . Or binge them on some live food . Slightly higher or lower water temp during the next water change may help .

I also read that the females will set up smaller territories in side the males larger one , and they should be set up so the females can't see each other , I guess from inside the spawning areas , If you can understand what I saying .

I finally got 2 females for my guy . :D
