How can you tell if your fish has droped fry already before buying the fish. Is there a physical sign that will show if they have droped fry??

If they hvae recently dropped, thier belly is very thin (also a lot of the times, the gravid spot will be very light in color - but not all times)

ahhh i think that is the case with my female platy, but now she is showing signs of dropsy. her scales are sticking out and her body is becoming cone-shaped.

If they are livebearers, (mollies, swordtails, guppies & platies) they might have dropped fry (given birth) but most other fish lay eggs.
