Im trying to breed two of my bettas. Ive done everything that ive read ( from multible sites) but have a quick question
If the bettas spawn over night, or during the day when Im not around, how can I tell that they are done when I return?
Are there any signs that a male and female are... done?

Thanks,
Brad

I am by no means an expert but ive heard that the male will chase teh female away from the nest when they are done

its best probably to let them out when you are home to keep an eye on them just incase he hurts her!

Male rolls over and goes to sleep?

Just kidding. I read the same thing as mewmew, but I've never actually spawned bettas so I'm not entirely sure ^^;;

Yeh MewMew is right :)
The male will start chasing the female away to protect his eggs, she will also try to hide away from the male so he can't see her :)

It is always best to plan to breed when you are going to be at home so you are always there to keep a watch, most of the time it is over in a few hours and if not I jar her up and try again the following day if I can watch them. The sign that spawning is finished is when the female no longer shows interest in the male and his nest and drifts away exploring the tank, he may also show aggression to her by chasing her away if she does get too close to the nest.
