How do you tell the difference between German Blue Rams and Bolivian Rams? In my LFS they're all just labelled Rams.Thinking of getting a couple.

Well GBR's are much more blue in colour (unless of course we are talking gold rams LOL).

Whilst Boliv's are duller and more yellow belly's

Here are some pics which might help you, although in LFS's the fish are not as coloured as in the home aquarium, as they colour up more when less stressed, these should give you some idea.

That's very slack of your LFS not to properly label their fish.
So how are they priced? Around here Bolivian Rams are worth considerably less than Blue Rams, especially German Blue Rams. Make sure you are not getting ripped off.
And perhaps the shop owner should know of the difficulty the lack of labelling caused you.
(Maybe purchase your fish first, some people are not open to criticism

You won't believe this but they had no prices marked and no staff in sight.All the other fish had prices displayed.I'd just popped in for a nosey on the way home from work so i didn't push it.And its actually a large nationwide pet store.Don't know of any locally owned ones here

I might let someone closer to you answer that.
I'm from Australia, and the prices here may be very different & would be difficult if not impossible to compare.
But for interest's sake a blue ram at about 3.5cm is about $11. These are farm bred Asian ones. German ones about 50% more.
Bolivian rams are usually sold bigger at about 5cm but are only about $8.

Good luck. Maybe they are newly arrived stock and just haven't got around to labelling & pricing them.

Hi mate I bought my bolivians yesterday and they were £2 each and I got four for£6 dont know about the blue's he had none in there next on my list,hope this helps
