i got a few tips on saving money.

to start with all you need for a tank is a filter , light ,heater.
when ur light needs replacing dont buy one from a fish shop get one from a hardware store its much cheaper ish shop is around £10 hardware store £ 1.50
building a tank can be cheaper deppending on the size if you want a tank with lots of dividers you can also build it.

Why are you posting this? I'm sure people appreciate your effort to help them but theres tons of these tips in DIY and other places.

have to agree with wisperian here. You shouldn't give advice if you don't really know much about it. Especially about lighting. For instance, if anyone has any plants, hardware store bulbs will not work. They don't provide light in the best spectrum for the plants. Fish store lights may be more expensive, but there's a very good reason for that...they're much better for aquariums (because they were designed for aquariums).

Maybe you should research things before you provide basic tips. Also, not sure how something like

is rather pointless as it doesnt help anyone at all. building a tank can be cheaper, but it takes lots of work and some not-necessarily-common tools that people would need to acquire. SO, building just a few tanks would likely end up being more expensive (especially for smaller tanks like most people keep bettas in).

some firms do make bot specialist (aquatic reptile dark room metal halide ect) lamps but also make standard every day run of the mill lamps,

I very strongly doubt that if you bought one from a hardware shop it would be the same spectrum as truly aquatc bulbs.

you can however run aquatic bulbs on standard light fittings...
