I just purchased some Amazon Sword. It came in a small pot. The lfs told me to keep it in the pot for about 2 weeks. How deep should I be planting this in the gravel? Also when I gravel vac, should I avoid vacuming around the plant so it won't get disturbed?

Thanks

Keep the crown above the gravel. Use weights if it doesn't stay.

Stay about an inch away from the plants so as not to uproot them.

If it doesn't have a good root system then leaving it in the pot might be a good idea, I never as I didn't find that I needed to.

Amazon sword may like some root tablets.

Thanks for the replies. It seems to have a good root system. Doe's natural light effect the growth as much as artificial lighting. I only have a 20 watt bulb, but it's getting some natural light. I'd like to get more lighting but I'd have to change the canopy.

I take mine out of the put push the roots in the gravel and the roots should develop. especially on the amozon sword your really not suppose to vacum the gravel with planst in it as this takes the nutrients from the plants.
