Hello.

How do I plant this bulb? Bury it fully in the substrate or partially, I really don't know?

Cheers.

This is it.

I don't know about that specific one but another plant I have (dunno the name) that has a corn, I just burried it totally, with the top just under the substrate.

Yeah thanks Wolf.

Those bits at the top are actually minute leaves. So I just left them above the sand.

that looks just like my 'manky conker' plant...(see the 'Ei Journal' thread for more details ;) )...I have it sitting on the gravel, with maybe just the bottom 3rd covered, and it's growing REALLY quickly...so sounds like it's not too fussy!

PS - at least I now know what to call it!!!

An awesome plant IME!

Ensure the new leaf growth is exposed, bury the rest. An iron rich substrate helps, the leaf colour will be a deeper red.

Here's a photo of my tank taken about 12 months ago, there's two bulbs about three weeks old. Keep it pruned well by pinching off the tallest stems as near as possible to the bulb, this ensures a nice dense look.
