how should I tie the java ferns to the driftwood? Should I only tie that thick long green root and how far apart and how many should I tie each plantlet on a 12in driftwood

I usually just used thread and cut it off after rthe ferns take root.

I normally use cotton and just wind the thread round the roots on the bogwood or whatever you are attaching it to. The cotton either rots away or becomes covered with plant so you never see it anyhow.
