What fish do you have?
How big is their tank?
Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings?

These might help.

i have 4 rummy nose tetras
4 glowlight tetras
5 neons
1 platy
2 guppys
2 killifish
and 3 x-ray tetras

ok
ph 7.2
amnonia 1
and nitrate 1

it has a few plastic plants in a live plant (not much left now) and a few ornements

what else could i put in

That's your problem right there, they are both lethal to fish and should both be at 0.

Clean water!

You need to do lots of water changes until the bacteria colony grows enough to deal with the fish you have.

By the way, what size is your tank and how long has it been set up and how quickly did you add all these fish.

well ok just done water chamnges got live plants more and both are 0 :D
its been setuo 4 months and is 24 gal

frozen foods give better growth and colour I buy frozen plant matter and various frozen brine shrip, daphnia etc for carnivors in my tank

You don't want to give 100% frozen foods though; some of those fish also need veggies. If you alternate, say one meal of frozen/jellied foods like bloodworms a week and maybe once or twice of veggies (peas, spinach etc), and the rest flake foods, that might give them a bit of an interest in life. But clean water is the most essential.
