How To Make A Diy Co2

Ok, ive looked around but not found any guides on how to actually make the mixture! (For my 30l betta tank, about 2.5wpg)

Ive got a 2l coke bottle, airline tubing and a diffuser.

Got yeast, sugar and water.

What do i do now?

get the water to about 40oC (works best IMO) and pour sugar in to the bottle to the first ridge, then water to roughly 2 thirds up, then add a teaspoon of yeast.

if your diffuser is ceramic, i highly doubt there will be enough pressure to force the bubbles through, unless its a ladder

2 cups of sugar (220ml per cup)
1 tsp of yeast.
3/4 of bottle filled with luke warm water - 30C

40C is too high and the yeast will activate and burn out too quickly.

And can i turn off the co2 at night by clamping the outlet tubing? The bottle wont explode right?

no keep it running, you do risk explosion if your not careful

kk. Betta aint going to dye because of low o2 is he?

no, plants provide O2, its nigh on impossible to over dose from DIY

I meant at night, but i presume what you are saying still applies.

Ok, thanks for all of your help! Is it necessary to go:

2Ltr bottle > small bottle > diffuser instead of 2Ltr > Diffuser incase of any solution getting into the tank? Should i not bother and go for the second option?
