Hi ronanphilip :)

Very impressive!

I'll move it over to the New to the Hobby section where it might help a Newbie. :D

That is excellent Ronan. Well done mate.

Can that be pinned or at least added to the FAQ topics, Inchy?

Maybe pin it in the 'Fish and Aquarium Videos' section?

Very good video this will really help newbies which Iam one Thanks.

Great video. The only thing that is slightly off is your statement that nitrite is slightly less toxic than ammonia. In actuality, nitrite may be more harmful to fish with long term exposure because it interferes with the blood oxygen transport. As I said though, that's a very minor detail. Arguing which one is more toxic is kind of like arguing over whether it's worse to be stabbed or shot to death. Either way is bad. Great video to show beginners who come here first before buying anything. I will book mark it or future reference to newbies.

thanks everyone

was a bit worried i might pass on some incorrect information as im fairly new to the hobby. still alot to learn.

dont be afraid to point out any mistakes.

cheers

Quick question ...... Is it really necessary to position ur nozzle so that it disturbs to surface water ? wat are the real benefits

I have the same tank but dont have my nozel postioned to break the surface water.

disturbing the water helps exchange gases like co2, you can use an airpump to do this aswell, planted tanks don't need it as much as they need co2.

Very helpful video! I have a question....

I have a filter that hangs on the back of the tank. Does it make a difference if the mouth of the filter (the part that throws the water back into the tank) is below the water level or can the water level be up past that mouth??

It doesn't matter on a HOB. You get surface disturbance when the water returns to the tank even if the outlet is below the surface.
