After doing a 90% water change after my fish and 5.0 nitrite level emergency (check other thread) i have finally got the nitrite down to 0. How can i now make sure it doesnt creep up again?

The 6 neons and 2 rasboras dont swim about very much. They just stay still in a group and move a bit every few mins.

there must be a reason for it having gone up, i have been having the same problem for 2 days and still cant get it under 0.25 ,im hoping a further water change this evening may do it. but well done on getting yours down, and keep testing :)
the reason mine is high is it was a new tank( second hand) that took 7 hours to get home and another 2 to set up, the filter has lost some of its goodness in the time :)

did you ever get a larger tank by the way, i remeber i replied to your thread some time ago :)

yeah, will do.

How do you think the fish are? Are they actually injured, or are they normally like that.

If they are, is there anything i can do?

Goodluck on yours too.

when i had neons they were like that normally, BUT there is a chance they have been poisioned, and im not sure on that score, sorry, mine seem to be fine, but then saying that they are new fish large ones that im not familiar with,so dont really have behaviour to compare with,

shelagh xxxx
