hi, 1st off want to say my fish store wasnt help at all they dont no how to grow plants.

for a year know i been having problems trying to keep my plants from dying. i have th eregular fish tank setup 36 gallon bow front with a filter for i think a 90 gallon, fish store tould be u never put the filter size that goes with the tank u always triple it he thought that was why when i first set the tank up it took a good 6 months for the tank to get fully setup and fish stop dying. any way back to the subject.

it just th eregular tank and gravel. ph is good i check that all the time it averages 7.0-7.5. I have 1 piece of drift wood i use sechem flourish excel i just started using, been using a fert called plant gro think nutrafin makes it i use that once a week. i try to keep up with water changes i usually will do 10 percent (1 spackle bucket change) and every 2-3 i try to do a 40-50% water change. i even tryed java ferns wich i have know th eone is a mat with cocanut fibe. ties to th edrift wood they are already close to all leveas that kind of brown color. i also tryed this plant that i seen in most peoples pics for te back of the tank big bushy grassy think that i thought was wysteria. all my plants i baught i baught from same person. maybe u heard of him mikeswetpets on ebay, i dont want to say its bad plants im buying from him if it could just be my setup. even my anubias isnt doing that well. the wysetria start turning a light color green befor they die. and i thought wysteria was one big plant all the ones i baught were a bunch of stems all put together with a weight wich i hate because they keep falling apart if u no what i mean.

so if anyone can help me out on how to make my plants last i also use hagens co2 systemi have 2 of them. anf also a good nice background plant that is a whole plant and nut tied together with a weight it gets aggrivating every day gathering them all back up and holding them with weight.

i appreciate the help, and im no expert at fish plants but i know house plants and stuff grow in soil not rocks so im not sure if im right that u need a plant like substrate and no gravel rocks or what. but please help me im not joking i probably threw $100 away on plants dying. o yea and 1 mor ething the only plant i had that did good and didnt die was my large java fern mat from china or indonesia or something like that.

any help please? dont know what i need to keep the plants going.
