Hi everyone,

I made the mistake of attemting to set up a female betta sorority tank with six females. Six is considered the min. that should be together to spread out aggression.

Yesterday, three of the fish had been injured. I read that this was normal *at first*, but now, this morning two more had been attacked, including my original girl, "Lilly." Because of this, I am concerned about continual bickering and admit I feel completely irresponsible about attempting a sorority.

Question is: How do I help my Lilly's fins heal? I'm (of course) keeping her and also have room for the other that wasn't bit (my son named her right when he got home, so she'll be in his room.)

I put aquarium salt in her tank along with stress coat + and changed her water.

Tank size is 10-gallon
Ammonia less than .25 ppm
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Ph and the rest, I have no idea.

Thanks for advice. A book I read said just do the regular water changes and she'll heal. Is this probably the best solution? The tank is uncycled, but I was told by one of the mods that with the tank being so big for one fish that it may not cycle at all. I'll just be sure her ammonia stays at 0.

Thanks.

How much salt should I add for the 10-gallon after every water change - say if I do 25% per day? I put in about 1/3 of the recommended "therapeutic dosage," today.

I heard you can't add more than one dosage of salt a week id ont know if its true or not but i just stick with i anyway, but for 10G 2 tbsps of salt is right for that amount of water. 1tbsp per 5G.
