1) Neons - To breed them do the following. Seperate the fish male to female. The male is a lot slimmer and keeps the neon line. The female will have a slight kink in the line and is fatter. Condition them using live foods. A soft water pH is recomended. Then put them back together in their own seperate tank lined with marbles and a spawning mop and finally loads of plants if you can and if they have bred then take em out. The eggs will be light sensitive so take precautions. Also the water needs to be crystal clean. I normally get my neons to breed them when i re-introduce them back into the aquarium after a big deep clean and a recycle of the tank. Neons are particularly fond of bloodworm in my experience.

Tiger Barbs: They are nippers, i never kept them as my dad said he hates them cuz they nipped all of his best lookers. lol. (he's got a point tho)

Mollys - Let time take its cause. 1 male to 3 females. I never kept them but its probably the same as other live bearers. Condition them with live brine shrimp, daphnia, etc. "mollies need salt :p" due to some biological theory/fact. I'm a maths man not a biologist so look on the sticky thing.

Also check out a few websites, use the search engine.

If you still want to breed in the community tank, the only way to breed em really with a chance of sucess is to have a really clean tank 0 nitrites, ammonium and 0 nitrates. Clean gravel/glass by hand before you attempt to breed them and dont have any bottom feeders so no one accidently eats the eggs. Lots of dense plants. (real as a preference) Keep the temperature at 25 celcius. Also live food but not too much as it produces the laxitive effect on them (which is quite funny) and dont feed too much live food as it rots quickly. Then you should have some chance of breeding the neons and a higher chance of breeding the mollies. Raising the fry is another story.

0 nitrates usually indicates the tank isn't cycled. Nitrates below 40 are considered ideal and are perfectly acceptable. Above that is OK too. There's not much some people can do, since some people's water is naturally high in nitrates.

To the OP ~
For the Neons and Tiger Barbs, ask in the Cyprinids and Characins forum further down the page.

For the crabs - ask in Invertebrates. Also, crabs are generally not good community animals, so I'd suggest you look into that.

For the Mollies - These fish will easily breed by themselves. 2-3 females per male is best, otherwise the male with constantly stress out the female with his mating urge. It's best to keep them in salt, and it helps prevent them from getting shimmies, fungus, etc. Now, the other fish in your community tank won't like the salt, so I'd suggest you look in to a seperate tank for the Mollies. :) And try reading the pinned topics and FAQs, there are lots of tips in there. Good luck! :good:
