I have an Ehiem pro 2 2028 external filter on my 47g tank and there are loads of tiny particles floating around the tank. I removed most of the sand but its still all floating around. I have eheim ehfysynth which says it traps small particles but it doesnt seem to be doing anything. What else could i try?

Good old filter floss is the best thing for polishing water, just by a big bag of the stuff from the lfs for a couple of quid and sticka wad of it in as the last stage of your filter media, every week or two just remove the dirty floss throw it in the bin and replace it with new.

okay. Thanks :good:

thats my system too CFC!
its not uncommon for people to bang their heads when looking in to the tank! a second little filter with carbon in will take water clarity to the next level. just use it if i need some really clear photo though.

Personally, I've been really impressed with Purigen. It's quite messy to load into a filter cartridge, but it does a sterling job. Seeing as my tank only has a small internal filter too, efficiency is fairly important...
