got about 25 guppy fry in a net trap in my main tank.can let them go till there bigger or they will be someones lunch! have a little tank which they can go in for a while but its not set up.what the quckest way to cycle it.main tank has ugf .have read about putting some gravel in a air powered box filter.could this work? was going to leave tank bottom bare for easy cleaning.they only need a few weeks and then they will be big enogh.worried about them getting stunted etc.if i put bog wood and plants etc in little tank will they bring bacteria with them as well? cheers!

hi odannyboy
yes i would go with the box/gravel filter and if you are in the uk, (probably from the valleys with a name like that) get hold of some filter start or something similar that can kickstart the cycle and push it along. fry wont make too much ammonia so i think they will do fine and the bacteria will catch up as they grow. just dont over feed them

Use filter media from your old tank and transfer all the water over you can. Then test the water regularly but it should be fine with the same filter and water effectively. :D
