How To Complete This Tank ?

Current Stock.

Tank is 240l with 10x filtration via Fluval 305/4+ filters. Tank stats have been solid 0's since stocking commenced.

Original plan was to complete by adding 2 apisto 2 rams and 6-10 wrestling halfbeaks but now I've added the betta splendens im having a rethink lol how would you complete this tank ? My only wish is to add more colours to counter balance the silver of the Diamonds and to a lesser degree the Rasborra.

Some type of catfish maybe. A pair of Sturisoma festivum would work well. A bit group of upside down catfish/Synodontis nigriventris would look good or a big shoal of corys.

A top dwelling species such as...

• Halfbeaks (N. liemi)
• Forktail Blue Eye Rainbows
• Gertrude Rainbows
• Hatchetfish
• Clown Killifish (maybe, but might not do well with mix of fish you have, needs more input)

Oooh clown killifish look nice and ##144### throws up no conflict ill go do some more research Wrestling halfbeaks are quite cool too. The catfish look nice but ##144### said they were to aggresive for the diamonds and rasborra ?

TBH I wouldn't rely on any calculating site for aggressiveness or anything else, asking here is your best bet - the advice I've got really has been great

Fish have different personalities so to speak. What works for some may not work for another. Trying it is the only way to find out.

Thanks for the advice got so many ideas floating around in my head now lol - I've given up seeing what Aqadviso.r thinks about conflicts as acording to it almost every fish alive can't go with the betta.

My main criteria is colour and size (I.e noticably bigger than the diamonds and rasborra) I had considered apistos or gourammis and some of the prev mentioned fish above.

I think on top of what you already have you could have.
1 pair of apisto (IMO there should be enough room for the betta to get away in a tank that size)
pair of royal whiptails or small plec like bn or clown
10 corys
10 marble hatchets
8 steel blue killis (2m 6f)
That looks good to me.

I like that list a lot kinzo1 ! I wont punch it into that stocking site I know by now it will just say every single fish isn't recommend with a betta lol Im googling them all so I can see what there like then ill speak to the importer/seller I use to query availability

I would try and go for one of the smaller type of apisto like nijsseni, baenschi, borellii, hongsloi or panduro. If you can i think a trio or 4 (dont know what that would be) with just 1 male and 2-3 females.

Rgr that ill research those now. I did put the list you gave into that site and it complained about every single fish lol My betta seems very laid back tho so Im sure It wont have half the problems aq.advis.or thinks it will.

I wouldnt normally recommend keeping a betta and apisto together but in your tankt here should be more than enough room for the betta to get away and since apisto arent that aggressive they arnt going to keep following the betta biting at it but it might get the odd nip if it gets to close so i dont think there will be that much aggression.

Yet many betta sites ive been on recommend corys as tank mates so I think its just far to over cautious Hatchets and killis I cant really see enraging the betta overly either tbh

Hatchets wont do anything they have to small mouths to do any damage evan if they wanted to plus they just float around on the surface ive never seen them chase anything. The killis could be a little aggressive but like i said for the apisto theres enough room for them to stay out of each others way.
