My tank isn't dirty, but the water has little pieces of debris and small oxygen bubbles. Any ideas on how to clear up the water?

Which tank, what make /model of filtration, and what's your maintenance schedule like?

What about adding a extar filter, a smaller one from walmart to help out? Or a stick of dynamite would clean it out real good.

It is my mbuna... it has a Top Fin 60 filter (I know...) and my schedule is pretty good IMO... I vac and water change once every two weeks or so...

could it be I just need to change my media? How often should media be changed and how do you change it with out loosing bacteria?

You could try some Seachem Clarity. It will binds the particles in the water together to make it easier for the filter to catch hold off it. I've used it to good effect several times (after re-planting). As for the air bubbles, try reducing the amount of disturbance the filter outlet is causing.

HTH!

Cichlids require double the filtration needed for a community tank. I would seriously consider a filter upgrade, a combination of an Aqua Clear hob & Eheim canister is tough to beat. Also consider a powerhead for the bottom, this helps keep debris off the botom, letting your filters take care of it.

It is also kind of hard to just buy... that's like $150+ worth of stuff that I do not have the money for...

Why not just add an External Eheim Ecco filter, they are only about £90 for the largest which does 300lph, that with your current filer should help no end.
