I have like a green gunk on the ceremic....I put the diffuser in bleach? the bleach that I use for clothes? :S

Yeah just leave it in the bleach for a few hours and make sure you give it a good rince with a de-chlorinator before you put it back in the tank, Its best to give ceramic diffusers a clean every couple of weeks.

might be educational to tell him how much to dilute the bleach vs water in, i'm not aware of it off the top of my head
I think it was 2/10 bleach but i cant say for sure.

well i put in 100% bleach for 2 hrs and my glass diffuser is micro bubbling better than ever b4 :good:

most modern day bleechs are designed to stick so the can last longer so make sure its all cleaned off

i soaked mine in 50/50 water bleach solution for a few days.

I then rinsed in copious amounts of running water. I then left in a large bowl of water to soak overnight for a few nights, changing the water daily. IMO it doesnt matter what you clean it with (within reason) the important part is to dilute it to a point where it doesnt harm the fish.

I did have to sluice out the central peice of the buble counter as some bleach had collected here - I have a limewood diffuser as a spare so wasnt too worried! It just took me a few days.

As a real 'anal retentive' guy I once knew said "the solution to pollution is dilution!"

Sink of water and a splash of bleach for a few hours, then the same with decholorinator and water. Never has problems and as cleekdafish says the bubbles are smaller afterwards :)
