Hey guys. I'm planning on getting a female betta here pretty soon, but I want to be sure to fine a good one. I don't know alot about them, so any help is appriciated.

What should I look for in coloring? All of the ones I have seen are white with small bits of other colors. Is that how they are suppose to look?

In males you look at fins and color to tell if they are healthy...what do you look for in females?

They eat the same stuff as males, right?

I know the bigger the better, but for right now, is a one gallon big enough for one female?

Do they like the same water conditions as males?

If there is any other things that I need to know, that info would be appriciated too!! :)

Thanks!!

What ever colour you prefer...however IMO the blue females are stronger fish when compared to the red trait and I belive green is inbetween...but thats from experience.

Same thing...make sure they are lively, and moving ;) and show no signs of external disease

It is...however they like to be together maybe upgrading the tank...and getting a second?

Yes

they love food

Are you looking to breed one or just keep one? Because there are differences on what to look for.

Do you mean the females like to be together? I have one female in my community tank, could my other female go in there too?

I've never tried it myself but yes they can go together. Just keep your eye on them, they really do better in numbers of 4 from what I hear.

My lfs had a bunch of females in a tank the other day, they'd nip at each other but nothing too extreme, they all looked very cute swimming up to the front of the glass together  I'd do it with my females but then my males would all be lost without their g/f "neighbors"
