I'm thinking of getting a new filter for my 64L tank.
I currently have an interpet filter which came with my tank, and I'd like to get a Fluval U2.
I'd like to know if anyone has a Fluval filter, and whether it's quiet? I'd really like a quieter filter as the one I currently have since my tank is in my bedroom.
Also, how would I go about changing it? Wouldn't it be effectively a fish-in cycle (I have two platies in there right now)? If so, what could I do to help this? I'm not entirely sure if the sponges from my interpet filter would fit the Fluval.
Any advice is much appriciated :)
Thank you! :)

I have a u2 and it is near silent i would put as much of the old media out of your old filter and into your new filter and then jus keep an eye on water stats thats what i normally do with no real problems hope that helps.

If your tank is cycled then you could just add the fluval u2 filter with the other filter and wait for it to gather bacteria ( i left my U3 in the tank with my U2 for 2months) and just turned the flow down on the U3 so there wasnt a whirpool lol i tested everyday though after i removed the u2 to make sure my parameters fine :good:
The fluval u2/u3 are quiet i find.... although other opinions on this could be helpful.
There is quite a noise about the U series bracket trapping fish atm ive had no experience with this though.

Hope this helps in some way :)

That's what I was thinking to do. I could just squish in the old media and put in some new ones, too

That helped a lot, thank you :)
My mum was thinking that I could put them both in at the same time, and it sounds like a good idea :D
Thank you again! :)
