As above really, I've just brought 8 new guppies. All of quick are pregnant but one in particular is alot bigger than the others. I want to save the fry so I I've purchased a birthing tank. When should I place her in the tank without causing too much stress. Ok I know it's not always the best idea to remover her from the main tank but as I said id like to save a many fry as possible and I know from experience that with my other fish in there they have no chance.

Just going to try and upload some pics of her so you can see her for yourself and maybe give me an idea. As I said she is new so I have no idea when her last fry were born, but she is quite big. Thank you for reading and looking forward to your replies of u can help!

Usually, if the new tank is big enough, it is best to move the female about 1 week before birthing. The birthing tank should have some sort of floating and sunken plants (moss and hornwort are good choices) and a sponge filter. Keep in mind that if the sponge filter is not cycled, you will need to watch carefully for ammonia.

The female in the photo looks far from birthing, but she also looks like she's eaten too much food recently.

We have not fed the fish since getting them this morning as we was told not too, she was this size when we brought her. Ok thanks for your reply, I shall just keep an eye on them all

She actually looks like she might have a parasite. When they're preggers, they have a squared-off look more than round as in your photo, like this:

Parasite is possible, but I have seen that shape front of tummy mostly from being fed pellets which swell after they have been eaten.
