First the goldfish, now this. This is the first time I have ever had to deal with anything other than minor finrot since I started 5 years ago. Go figure, it would be my extremely heavy planted 75(USgal) which houses a Tyretrack, a Queen Arabesque, and a Gold Nugget.
Oh, and the Mollies and SAEs I just added to eat thread algae- boo to me for not quarantining
Now that I got my rant out... It is still early, I noticed but the smallest little white flecks on the tails of a couple mollies that I hadn't noticed before (I thought). As I pondered if that was part of their natural coloring, lo, there was just a granule or two on the SAEs.
I am slowly raising the temp to 82F, and will be using Rid-Ich, it uses a zinc-free form of malachite green and is supposed to be "safer" for sensitive fish- will still be dosing half strength 2X as long.
So is it OK to add it all within an hour, or should I spread it over a few hours? Thanks.
