Well, I have some aquatic plants, but some of them have some brown spots on them! So, what should I check for and how do I handle the problem? P.S. I rarely use artificial light!
The brown spotting is probably algae, just wipe it off. If the brown is soft and squishy then the leaf is rotting. Many aquarium plants are grown out of water and shed their old leaves when put under water.
I've got my 'special' scissors for dealing with pruning. As a general rule remove the rotting matter eg. leaves. A good long sharp thumb nail usually did the job before I got some scissors.
Btw bonsai scissors are really good for precise, neat cutting
