I've had nine newly acquired Harlequin Rasboras in a quarantine tank (45L fish Pod) for a while, and today was the day I was to transfer them over to the big main tank, but I'm finding it impossible to net them, they are just so fast! I'm really worried they are going to jump out and die in the process - if I even get to net them in the first place, which I haven't so far.

PLEASE, if anyone has any advise on how to get the little buggers I'd be delighted to have it!

Two nets, hold one still most of the time and gentle coax fish into it using a second net. ;)

If you only have one net and you are on a mission to transfer them tonight , lowering the water level to about 25% ought to help.

+1 . if you have one net use something else to chase them into the net :good:

Partial water removal. Remove 75% of the water, so that the fish don't have 3 dimensions to move in to escape. Then, you can slowly corner them. Eventually they will swim into the net themselves, if you hold it still.

Think about how you net them from an acclimation process. Very little water, very small container. Very easy to net them out. :good:

Fishing rod, hook, fishing line, maggots.

Good advice, but its hard to get the maggots to volunteer for this duty. And I hate to see a maggot cry.
