I've had my tank for a while now, and I have about 10 glowlight tetras. It's only occured to me recently that I may not feed them enough.

My reason for this is that whenever I walk over to them, they swim to the top, as they do when I feed them. Is this normal? I feed them once a day...should it be more often?

Sorry for the total newbie question.

Feed them once a day - they are just begging for food

Some people feed their fish 3 times a day, some people feed them once every other day, its just personal preference really. I feed mine once a day and give them bloodworm about 3 times a week.

HTH :good:

I feed my discus more than 4 times a day - but that's a whole different story - the tank is at 30C and I am changing water every day. The fish in the community tank and my puffers only get food once. You can feed twice - but the same amount of food split up.

If you fed your fish every time they looked hungry, you would spend your whole life standing by your tank throwing food in!

Try and resist those hungry eyes Currahee, - hard I know, but you will toughen up in time!

I feed my fish 2 times a day but it does not effect them.

Thanks for all the replies!

I've just realised there's already a topic on this. Sorry!
