how much yeast and sugar should i put into a 2L DIY CO2 Generator?

Nick

one for a 55 gallon and one for a 30 gallon

Also depends on lighting and amount of plants and what type. Anyway, my 40 gallon has 2 DIY bottles.. Here'es my recipe for each one..

3/4 tsp yeast ( This kind of depends on what type of yeast some people use 1/4 some people use more.)
2 Cups sugar
1 tsp Baking Soda
Fill warm (NOT HOT) water to where it starts to curve

r u talkin bout the milky white stuff at the bottom of the tube where the bubbles come out? Cause i noticed i had a bunch if milky white stuff interfering with the bubble flow today. After i removed it everything flowed well again. Any idea what that stuff is?

This is a fabulous article on DIY CO2 and all you could possibly want to know (or almost) :)

I think that's probably because there is too much yeast in there.

I have been experiementing with the mixture in mine and in a 3 litre bottle this is what I am currently using successfully with asterile method mentioned in the article Bloozoo posted, which I can highly recommend:

3 cups water
3 cups suger
.75 tsp active dried yeast

My water is very hard so I have not added any bicarb.

The mix is very stable and is producing a good nuber of bubbles, but am going to set up another 3 litre as a test using:

4 cups water
4 cups suger
1 tsp active dried yeast

As there is still plenty of room in the bottle and am finding it hard to achieve 30ppm with London tap water.
